One night, one unmistakable colour
On 30 September, the Eiffel Tower was illuminated in pink for the launch of October Rose, the annual breast-cancer awareness campaign. The special lighting replaced the tower's usual gold from evening until midnight — a familiar Paris landmark briefly becoming a public message of awareness and support.
A photograph is not the whole story
Pink October runs throughout October in Paris, with information and awareness events across the city. The colour is beautiful from Trocadéro or the Champ-de-Mars; the reason for it matters more: information, prevention and early detection.
If you photographed the tower in pink, you can add that image here in the middle of the article, add a caption, or place it at the end beside a video. Route33's Journal editor now supports all three.
For current health information or local October Rose events, use the official City of Paris and campaign resources rather than social-media rumours.
